Classes/Activities!

The camp week is jam packed with MANY different classes & activities campers will participate in.

CLASSES

  • Daily Orchestra Rehearsals
    • Campers are placed in one of three orchestras based upon grade entering.
      • Bach Orchestra - 5th-7th Grade
      • Beethoven Orchestra - 8th & 9th Grade
      • Brahms Orchestra - 10th through 12th Grade
  • Guarneri Orchestra Rehearsal with Zachary Levi - 2006

  • Chamber Music Coaching
    • Campers are placed in a chamber group (small ensemble) with students of similar ability. 
    • Each chamber group will rehearse daily and perform on Friday of camp week.
    • The top chamber groups from each orchestra will perform on the Honors Recital held on Friday night.

  • Technique Classes
  • Campers participate in classes to help them improve on specific technique such as posture, bowing, left hand development, etc.

  • Sectional Rehearsals
  • Campers will rehearse with students within their own orchestra section to help them learn their orchestra music.

OTHER ACTIVITES

  • Artist Performances/Special Sessions/Concerts
    • Artist Performances/Special Sessions/Concerts occur throughout the camp week.  For a listing of performances, click HERE.

  • Recreation
    • We provide a variety of recreation activities for the campers each day.  Every evening, campers sign up for the recreation activity they would like to participate in for the following day.  The activities vary each day depending upon factors such as weather.
      • Swimming
      • Game Room (billiards, table tennis, foosball, darts)
      • Practice Room
      • Music Library
      • Computer Lab
      • Soccer
      • Frisbee
      • Arts & Crafts
      • Tennis
      • Basketball
      • Dorm
      • Shopping in the Campus Store (limited time)
      • Badminton
      • Volleyball
  • Talent/Non-Talent Show
    • Friday evening, campers put on the Annual "Talent/Non-Talent" Show.  Campers are encouraged to bring props, costumes or whatever they need if they would like to participate in the Talent Show.  Campers may decide to get together to perform a skit, act, sing, juggle, etc.  Campers are not required to perform in the Talent Show.
    • Campers would need to audition for the Talent Show mid-week.
  • Movie/Dance Night
    • Mid-Week, campers will enjoy Movie/Dance Night.
    • Movies
      • Three movie choices will be provided to all campers.
    • Dance
      • A professional D.J. is provided for the campers to enjoy Dance Night.
      • The Dance is only for 8th through 12th graders.
