Lisa Leonardi has taught strings at all levels for the past 28 years.  She is presently the High School Orchestra Director in the Huntington School District on Long Island.

She received her Bachelor of Music Education from the Crane School of Music at S.U.N.Y. Potsdam and her Master of Music Education from Syracuse University.

Lisa is active in many Suffolk County and New York State music organizations.  She is an All State NYSSMA string adjudicator and an active performer on the violin and viola.  She frequently performs chamber music with friends and is the concertmaster of the Northport Community Orchestra.

For 15 years she was the violin revisionist for the NYSSMA Manual and the orchestra music review editor for the School Music News for a short time.  She has been the All State Orchestra Chairperson and Zone Chair for the American String Teachers Association.  Lisa is a past President of the Long Island String Festival Association and held many other Executive Board posts for that organization, as well as for the Suffolk County Music Educators Association.  She is currently the President-Elect of the New York ASTA chapter.
