
K-12 public schools can form student chapters for $59.00 per chapter per year with student members who join together to pay that combined fee. The chapter will receive one copy of the Journal and membership certificates for each student. This is a wonderful way to get students involved in our profession early on.

The student members of the ASTA chapter have many of the benefits of an adult member...at a fraction of a cost.
Activities could include
Sponsor visiting artists
Have visiting artists provide master classes
Help at All-County, Area All-State activities
Peer teaching
Use meetings for pedagogical aspects
Inform about careers in strings and music
Consider holding a meeting of the state student chapters or having special events at your state meetings
Offer master classes for public school ensembles
Sponsor a chamber music weekend
Master classes and lectures from school faculty to gain support for string teaching, pedagogy and string education

ASTA Student String Quartets playing in the community
The possibilities are endless based on the energy level of your group and the needs in that particular community
Your student group will be listed in the American String Teacher Journal as a way or recognizing these special groups.
